AlienVault has announced a partnership with Deutsche Telekom and its ICT division T-Systems to power a new cyber defence solution.
The “German Mittelstand” will enable mid-market customers with the ability to detect and mitigate the impact of a breach. This solution enables SMEs to detect and defend their networks from professional hackers in real time – without having to employ their own security experts.
Cyber Defence for SMEs utilises AlienVault’s Unified Security Management (USM) platform, which is powered by up-to-the-minute threat intelligence from AlienVault Labs and Open Threat. The AlienVault USM platform is also part of a comprehensive security system known as the Next Generation Security Operations Centre, which is where Deutsche Telekom monitors activities in the SOC to analyse and deal with attacks, while also hosting platform operations at the same time.
“T-Systems had already been using AlienVault’s open source project, OSSIM for a long time and were really impressed with its core features,” said Jürgen Kohr, head of T-Systems’ cyber security business unit.
“There are many solutions out there that are similar, but we found that no one vendor offered all of the security functionality in one platform like AlienVault. So, we decided to take it a step further and develop an entire solution around AlienVault’s Unified Security Management platform to offer our ‘German Mittelstand’ mid-market customers a complete, cost-effective security solution.”
