BSides London has announced renowned industry speaker Trey Ford as its keynote speaker, as it opens the voting for its 2014 talks.
Ford, who was the chief organiser for the annual Blackhat conference in Las Vegas and is currently global security strategist at Rapid7, will present on the current proliferation of malware and other threats and discuss tactics for detection and containment.
With a month to go, BSides London has closed its content for presentation and opened the voting process. With 38 talks submitted from speakers including representatives from academia, penetration testers, independent researchers and vendors, delegates and the wider industry are now asked to vote on which talks will take place at the fourth annual BSides London event. Votes can be cast here.
Held under the banner of “Connecting People & Agents of All Kinds”, the voted-on talks that will be spread across two tracks in the Great Hall and the Small Hall of the Town Hall, which takes place on Tuesday April 29th at Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall in London. Tickets are now sold out, but organisers encouraged other would-be attendees to apply to join the waiting list and tickets will be released if others cannot attend.
Voting on the talks is open until 2300 GMT on Wednesday 2nd April and has a variety of subjects covered, for example Android systems, intrusion detection, threat modelling and detection and profiling attackers. The range includes business focussed talks all the way to very technical research presentations.
The show will also see various workshops held, and the return of the rookie track for aspiring presenters. Platinum sponsors include MWR Infosecurity, Tenable, Nebulas and KPMG.
