Laya Healthcare has selected technology from FireEye to protect nearly half a million customers’ details.
The second largest private healthcare insurance provider in Ireland, Laya Healthcare has been a provider of private healthcare insurance for more than 15 years.
“At Laya Healthcare we place innovation at the heart of everything we do hence we chose the leader in the field FireEye to help take care of our security posture. It also keeps us on the front foot against cyber crime,” said Ian Brennan, director of IT at Laya Healthcare.
“We’ve worked with a number of traditional security providers over the years, and will continue to do so, but with the added security of FireEye monitoring for any threats that get through these defences, we can be confident that our members’ records are safe from both traditional and new methods of cyber attacks.”
With the FireEye Security Platform acting as the hub for its web and email security operations, Laya Healthcare will benefit from real-time threat intelligence shared via the Dynamic Threat Intelligence (DTI) cloud to defend against targeted attacks. The FireEye Network Security (NX Series) and Email Security (EX Series) platforms will allow Laya Healthcare to protect itself from spear phishing attacks, websites that contain zero-day exploits and emails that contain malware.
Richard Turner, vice president EMEA, FireEye said: “Our recent regional advanced threat reports highlighted that healthcare is the most targeted industry in Europe and the fourth most targeted in the UK & Ireland. With cyber attackers prepared to use any avenue to compromise healthcare organisations, it is vital for the industry to keep their security up-to-date to ensure that patient’s records and financial details are secure. By working closely with Laya Healthcare, we can continuously monitor and protect their infrastructure to help keep their sensitive data safe.”
