Public WiFi provider The Cloud has deployed Dell SonicWALL’s Content Filtering Service and firewalls to offer additional security capabilities to customers.
The use of Dell SonicWALL solutions has enabled The Cloud to strengthen network security and save money from combining solutions, as well having the capacity to handle traffic spikes even on the most demanding enterprise networks, using a scalable, high density, multi-core, high-performance architecture.
The Cloud was previously running through a proxy-based solution, as demand grew, the solution was not allowing the organisation to grow and increase capacity sufficiently. Working with Dell, The Cloud implemented the Dell SonicWALL Content Filtering Service to enforce protection and productivity policies, and block inappropriate, unproductive and illegal web content. The Cloud also supplemented its Dell SonicWALL E-Class Network Security Appliance firewalls with Dell SonicWALL SuperMassive 9400 next-generation firewalls in high availability (HA) mode to handle traffic spikes and support the growing number of end-users.
Ian Bullock, director of operations at The Cloud, said: “The Cloud works with many high-street brands, from the entertainment industry, to the travel sector. With such a wide range of users, from families to business people using our service, we needed a firewall solution that could stand up to our users’ demands, and a content filtering service to protect our users from unsuitable websites. Following the deployment, we are seeing a strong ROI, while achieving twice the capabilities of the previous solution, while only paying a quarter of the cost.”
Florian Malecki, international product marketing director of Dell Security, said: “Dell was able to provide an up-to-date solution that was cost effective, reliable, flexible and scalable, improving users’ experience. The solution for The Cloud is a great example of combining two solutions to reduce costs, without compromising the security or performance of our appliances.”
