In today’s news: Sanmay Ved bought Google.com for $12 – that’s £8 – at the end of September. He immediately started getting emails which were clearly intended for the web admin staff at Google.
Buying the domain on Google’s own domain selling service, Mr Ved managed to buy and receive confirmation of his ownership of the domain, which lasted all but a minute. Google rewarded a cash bounty which it then doubled after Mr Ved announced that he’d be donating the reward to an Indian education charity.
