Alert Logic, the leading provider of Security-as-a-Service solutions for the cloud, have announced that the ‘Alert Logic Cloud Defender’ has gone live on the UK public sector procurement framework, G-Cloud 9. The ‘Cloud Defender’ is the industry’s first ever fully managed cloud-native security and compliance solution. Its inclusion on the list enables public sector IT teams to efficiently seek and obtain services from pre-approved suppliers of cloud based services; thus, avoiding the traditional, time consuming, often expensive, procurement practices. Contracts and terms and conditions are standardized through the Digital Marketplace.
“We are delighted to have been accepted onto this year’s G-Cloud 9 framework. Web applications attacks are the most prevalent source of data breaches, due in part by the large attack surface up and down the application infrastructure stack” said David Howorth, Senior Vice President EMEA for Alert Logic. He adds, “inclusion on G-Cloud helps us to provide public sector teams developing cloud applications with a multi-layer web application attack defence that combines fully managed security services, machine learning, threat intelligence and 24×7 security expertise to protect sensitive data and defend against the latest cyber attacks.  This service can be directly provisioned with Alert Logic, or via key partners – Cloudreach, Datapipe, KCOM, iomart, Sungard, BJSS – as part of their solution offerings on G-Cloud.”
Now available in the Cloud Software category, the Alert Logic Cloud Defender combines managed security software with expert security services to asses, detect and successfully block threats to applications and cloud based workloads. It is also beneficial in assisting public sector and enterprise organisations comply with regulatory mandates such as PCI and the impending introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into effect in May 2018.
