BJSS managing director, Stuart Bullock, has today signed a Partner Memorandum with the Government’s Northern Powerhouse scheme, which will see BJSS help the North of England to achieve its full potential.

Based in Yorkshire, BJSS is the UK’s largest privately-owned IT and Business Consultancy, and is a recent winner of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. The company designs, delivers and supports large-scale digital transformation on behalf of the world’s largest organisations. BJSS employs over 600 technologists in its Northern office locations of Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham, and is a significant contributor to the region’s economy with an annual turnover exceeding £100m.

As part of the Government’s Industrial Strategy, the Northern Powerhouse Partners Programme is a coalition of businesses that aim to promote transformative economic growth across the North. It achieves this by bringing together businesses, institutions and organisations which are passionate about the north of England and north Wales and share the government’s ambition to draw on the region’s great cities, towns and rural communities to become a powerhouse for the UK economy.

BJSS has delivered several significant projects in the region, including a global platform that processes 60 per cent of the world’s foreign exchange trades, and the complete re-engineering of the NHS legacy Spine national healthcare infrastructure, saving the NHS £21million in its first year of operation.

The company is also an enthusiastic employer of young people through its Apprenticeship and Graduate programmes, and offers an award-winning CSR platform that develops the digital skills of less-advantaged schoolchildren in the region.

Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry MP said:

“I’m delighted to welcome BJSS to the Northern Powerhouse Partners Programme. They are a Yorkshire-based company with a strong track record of contributions to the Northern Powerhouse economy and enthusiasm for supporting Northern graduates and apprentices so we are in a great place to work together to build a more prosperous and inclusive economy which is fit for the future.”

Stuart Bullock, BJSS Managing Director, comments:

“BJSS is renowned for its role in shaping the Northern technology sector and we will continue to be a passionate advocate for the strengths of our region. Joining this community of successful businesses will help us further promote the shared values of economic development though digital innovation and investment in skills.”
