Company positioned furthest for completeness of vision for second consecutive year. Netskope, the cloud security company, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has recognized the company as a Leader in the 2018 Magic Quadrant for Cloud Access Security Brokers. In addition to its recognition as a Leader, Netskope is also positioned furthest for its completeness of vision. This is the second consecutive recognition as a Leader positioned furthest for completeness of vision for Netskope. The report evaluated 13 different vendors on 15 different criteria, and a complimentary copy is available for download on the Netskope website.

Gartner defines cloud access security brokers (CASBs) as “on-premises or cloud-based security policy enforcement points, placed between cloud service consumers and cloud service providers to combine and interject enterprise security policies as the cloud-based resources are accessed1.”

“The rapid growth of enterprise cloud applications and cloud infrastructure like Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud Platform has made cloud security a top-of-mind concern for enterprise CISOs and CIOs around the world. The challenges presented by the cloud, however, necessitate a shift from legacy vendors toward a security cloud that was built from the ground up with the unique characteristics of the cloud in mind. This includes real-time visibility into and control over all cloud services, robust data loss prevention, the ability to prevent and remediate cloud threats, and enablement of granular dynamic access control that governs usage in real time for any user from any device across all cloud services,” said Sanjay Beri, founder and CEO, Netskope. “We are delighted to be recognized again as a Leader positioned furthest for completeness of vision and believe this recognition from Gartner validates our leading technology, “one-cloud” architecture, the breadth of our offering, and the long-term vision of our company.”

According to the report, “Cloud access security brokers have become an essential element of any cloud security strategy, helping organizations govern the use of cloud and protect sensitive data in the cloud. Security and risk management leaders concerned about their organizations’ cloud use should investigate CASBs2.”

The Netskope Security Cloud provides enterprises with visibility and real-time control for all cloud services, whether sanctioned or unsanctioned, and whether accessed from managed or unmanaged devices. Using patented technology, the Netskope cloud-scale security platform provides context-aware governance of all cloud usage in real time, whether accessed from the corporate network, remotely, or from a mobile app or sync client. With the Netskope Security Cloud, security professionals can understand risky activities, protect sensitive data, stop online threats, and respond to incidents in a way that fits how people work today.

The Netskope Security Cloud can be deployed 100 percent in the cloud, as an on-premises appliance, or via a hybrid configuration that includes both. Netskope supports all possible modes of cloud governance including out-of-band and inline options, and the Netskope Security Cloud was designed with an all-mode architecture for cloud governance, including the use of multiple methods in parallel at cloud-scale for the largest enterprises in the world.
