The Payment Card Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) has published earlier this month an overhaul of its software security standards – the first one in more than a decade. The changes are aimed at reducing the rampant trend of credit card theft, which had dramatically increased as the “ecosystem” of credit data has become more varied and complex with the introduction of smart payment, tablets, wearables and more.
