baramundi software AG and Paessler AG have released a new interface as part of their partnership enabling the efficient connection of the Paessler PRTG Monitoring Software and the baramundi Management Suite.

“In recent years, the number of endpoints to be managed in corporate networks has risen massively,” says baramundi CEO, Uwe Beikirch. “This trend is likely to continue for the foreseeable future. For administrators, this means a sharp increase in workload and complexity. You need intelligent management solutions to tackle these challenges.”

A cross-platform, modular unified endpoint management solution, such as the baramundi Management Suite (bMS), helps administrators automate IT tasks such as installing, distributing, keeping inventories, protecting and creating back-ups. The PRTG Network Monitor from baramundi’s technology partner Paessler ideally complements the solution with continuous and reliable monitoring to ensure the performance and availability of the entire IT environment. Via a common interface, data can now be exchanged directly between the two programs.

“Transparency and traceability – at both the technical and organizational level – are the basic prerequisites for efficient IT work. Through our collaboration with Paessler and the PRTG Network Monitor integration, we provide administrators with a solution that equips them to face future challenges. It enables them to quickly and reliably manage their entire IT environment even better than before,” continues Beikirch.

Identify and correct irregularities

For system administrators, this means that they can use the PRTG Dashboard with the baramundi Job Sensor to directly monitor the status of update and installation processes ‘Jobs’ at a glance. The baramundi Endpoint Sensor provides administrators with a quick overview of all Jobs running on a single device. The baramundi Endpoint Summary Sensor also displays the activity or inactivity of the endpoints as a whole. This means administrators are made aware of irregularities at an early stage.

Gabriel Fugli, Partner Account Manager of Paessler AG says: “Within our Uptime Alliance, we work with our partners to ensure that joint customers have 100% systems availability. We recently integrated the baramundi Management Suite via open interfaces and pre-configured sensors. Together, baramundi and PRTG have created a secure, reliable and powerful IT infrastructure where users have everything under control – from firewall traffic to client configuration.”
