New research by the Ponemon Institute and Keeper Security has found that 70% of the UK’s financial sector has experienced a cyber-attack in 2020. The researchers have warned that this increase in the rate of attacks could result in “disastrous consequences” if action is not taken.
The report has also found that 59% of these attacks were made more likely due to the acceleration in remote working due to the pandemic, as the workforce is now more vulnerable to attackers. According to the research, 41% of finance bosses believe that it is their remote workforce who have made their company more susceptible to data breaches.
