Leading global application security provider Black Duck has reinforced its commitment to the Saudi Arabian market with the introduction of the Black Duck Polaris® Platform as the first application security software as a service (SaaS) platform hosted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Polaris is purpose-built to help enterprises streamline and strengthen their application security programmes by unifying multiple advanced Black Duck analysis engines into a single, cohesive platform. All customer data will be hosted exclusively within Saudi Arabia through a partnership with Google Cloud. The solution will also be made available to all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries starting July 15, 2025.

Black Duck has earned industry recognition as a seven-time Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Application Security Testing, a five-time Leader in The Forrester Wave™ for Software Composition Analysis, and a three-time Leader in The Forrester Wave™ for Static Application Security Testing.

“After opening our Riyadh office in 2022 to play an important role in securing Saudi Vision 2030, our introduction of Polaris in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides an integrated platform with rapid and scalable application security testing,” said Jason Schmitt, CEO of Black Duck. “Polaris offers a comprehensive view of the risk posture, enabling informed decision-making and real-time impact monitoring to embody True Scale Application Security for our customers.”

Polaris enables secure development without friction by offering personalised dashboards and AI-driven remediation assistance. Developers receive clear, concise descriptions of risks, along with specific code-fix recommendations, helping them boost productivity while building secure applications.

The platform delivers ease of use and comprehensive testing through a unified interface. By running static, dynamic, and software composition analysis concurrently, Polaris allows DevOps teams to quickly identify and remediate vulnerabilities in proprietary code, open-source dependencies, and application behaviour, all within a single, fully integrated SaaS solution. It also supports the most widely used programming languages, frameworks, and package managers to enhance integration and consolidate risk visibility.

Polaris also simplifies and accelerates testing at scale. With support for bulk onboarding across multiple source code management (SCM) repositories and customisable security policies, teams can automate their application security workflows and run scans across hundreds of projects in just minutes.

“This collaboration helps pave the way for even more strategic application security adoption in the Saudi Arabian market,” said Ritika Suri, Managing Director, AI & Data ISV Partnerships, Google Cloud. “By introducing Polaris, which will be hosted on Google Cloud, organisations now have access to the SaaS application security platform with in-region hosted visibility.”
