Jonathan Zanger Named CTO at Check Point to Boost AI Cybersecurity
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Check Point Software has appointed Jonathan Zanger as its new Chief Technology Officer, tasking the former Trigo executive with driving the company’s global cybersecurity and AI strategy.

Zanger brings over 15 years of experience building and scaling AI-powered cybersecurity platforms. At Trigo, he served as CTO, leading the development of advanced AI and computer vision systems for autonomous retail. He holds advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

“AI is fundamentally reshaping both how cyber threats emerge and how we defend against them,” said Nadav Zafrir, CEO at Check Point Software Technologies. “Jonathan’s deep technical expertise and leadership in cyber security and applied AI will accelerate our mission to deliver prevention-first security for a hyperconnected world. His appointment reinforces our commitment to shaping the future of cyber defence through bold innovation.”

In his new role, Zanger will oversee the evolution of Check Point’s AI initiatives, focusing on integrating automation and machine learning across the company’s Infinity Platform. His appointment follows a series of milestones for the firm, including its recognition as a Leader in the Forrester Wave™: Zero Trust Platform, Q3 2025. The report highlighted Check Point’s “plan to deliver AI-driven capabilities to automate network security functions.” Third-party validation from Miercom also recently named Check Point among the industry’s top-performing AI-powered security platforms.

“I’m thrilled to join Check Point at such a pivotal moment,” said Zanger. “Cyber security must evolve faster than the threats it’s designed to stop. By embedding AI across every layer of our architecture, from gateways to the cloud, we’re not just keeping pace, we’re setting the pace.”

Zanger’s appointment comes amid increased investment by Check Point into AI capabilities and talent, a move the company says is central to its prevention-first approach and “open garden” ecosystem. The company continues to position itself as a leader in unified cyber defense, supporting enterprises navigating digital transformation and complex hybrid IT environments.
