Tenant isolation becomes a buying criterion as FusionAuth opens UK office

Customer identity and access management (CIAM) provider FusionAuth has established its first dedicated European sales team, based in the UK, as enterprises across the region push for tighter control over where identity data lives and how it is isolated.

The Colorado-based company said its European annual recurring revenue (ARR) has grown 72% over the past two years and now accounts for more than 30% of company ARR. That growth came before FusionAuth had any staff in the region.

The firm points to tenant isolation as a key driver. Its 2026 State of AI and Identity Report found that 85% of technology leaders have been asked by customers, partners or suppliers to demonstrate tenant isolation as an enterprise buying criterion. For organisations handling large volumes of customer credentials, the question of whether identity data sits on shared infrastructure is increasingly being raised in procurement.

FusionAuth’s pitch is that identity can be deployed anywhere: in its own cloud, in a customer’s environment, on-premises or in a hybrid setup. The platform supports passwordless login, MFA, SSO and OAuth.

“European enterprises are sending a clear message: they want greater control over where identity runs, how customer data is isolated, and who controls the underlying infrastructure,” said Brian Bell, CEO of FusionAuth. “European buyers chose us before we even had a team on the ground. Now, we are putting direct resources into the UK to support this demand and partner closely with regional leaders.”

The wider regulatory and market backdrop is moving in the same direction. EU initiatives are placing greater weight on cloud sovereignty, portability and control over data infrastructure, and Gartner forecasts that European sovereign-cloud IaaS spending will rise 83% in 2026.

FusionAuth says the demand is strongest in consumer-facing sectors, where the customer relationship and the identity data behind it are seen as too valuable to hand to a shared platform. Media and telecom ARR grew 70% in the last year, energy and utilities customer numbers rose 120%, and retail and consumer goods ARR climbed 65% over two years. European customers include tado°, UNICEPTA, MKB Brandstof, Grand Frais and Elemis.

The company also secures fan identity for several premier football clubs and governing bodies, and is co-sponsoring The Fan Identity Forum at Leaders Week London on 7–8 October alongside sports digital specialist Stadion.

In its fiscal first quarter ended 31 July 2026, FusionAuth grew new-business ARR by 48% year-on-year and new customer acquisitions by 40%.
