ForeScout has launched an open platform to allow technologies to interface with its CounterACT technology to share intelligence.
Speaking to IT Security Guru, ForeScout chief marketing officer Scott Gordon said that the ControlFabric technology was long in production and was part of the most recent version of CounterACT, but it allows users to send threat information and flexibly integrate CounterACT with other security and management systems.
He said: “Now users can use this to send information in real time from the solution and any company can send to us for real time mitigation for an endpoint. In CounterACT 7, which was out 12 months ago, we added what has become the ControlFabric module so we could take real time data and data from third parties so we could take action and directly remediate an endpoint, and it all happens dynamically.”
The company said that the platform helps enterprises to advance situational awareness by leveraging infrastructure data, and improve their security posture by applying policy-based controls to expedite remediation actions.
It also includes CounterACT plug-ins that work with mobile device management, advanced threat detection, endpoint protection, vulnerability assessment and security information and event management (SIEM) technology.
Gord Boyce, CEO of ForeScout, said: “IT organisations require defences that not only interoperate with each other, but also provide more value than the individual solutions deliver on their own.
“Developed and proven over the last few years, the ForeScout ControlFabric platform allows customers to mobilise their enterprise tools and operational data in truly creative ways that dramatically improve visibility, risk management and productivity.”
