Appthority: There will always be a battle between Android and iOS. Whether it is over the devices themselves or over what they can provide the user. People will always find something to argue about with one another. Appthority decided to join in this debate, putting Android apps against iOS to assess both platforms mobile app security.
Appthority Mobile App Risk Management Service looked at the top 400 apps offered from both Google and Apple, and then compared its findings from the summer of 2013. As opposed to the previous study, the new, updated report looked closer at the app behaviors of the top 100 free and paid Android and iOS apps. This study found that approximately 57 percent of the top free iOS apps drop off the top 100 list every six months. Unfortunately, this makes any research of the most popular apps outdated very quickly.
