Veracode wins patent infringement lawsuit against Appthority
Veracode has prevailed in its litigation against mobile security vendor Appthority, in which the latter was accused of infringing on two of Veracode’s patents. Veracode said that two of the three claims infringed upon the static debugging patent (the ‘924’ patent).
According to 451 Research, the patents are “Static Debugging Tool and Method” and “Software Analysis Framework”. The jury found that Appthority had willfully infringed on two of the three claims in the static debugging patent, also known as the ‘924 patent,’ for which Veracode has an exclusive license from Rovi (formerly Macrovision).
Appthority was cleared of the other infringement claims, but the jury awarded an amount that approximates the entirety of Appthority’s revenue to date.
