Cybersecurity 500 launches to offer directory of companies

Cybersecurity Ventures has launched the first Cybersecurity 500, a directory of the 500 hottest and most innovative cyber security companies to watch in 2015.

Included based on customer base, feedback from users and evaluators, growth and funding and notable implementations, the 500 currently sees FireEye at number one, followed by Moka5, AlienVault and Norse, and will be updated monthly to add new companies, change rankings and update the company profiles.

Founder and CEO of Cybersecurity Ventures Steve Morgan said: “We didn’t think a list of the largest cyber security companies would be very useful to our target audience of cyber and IT security decision makers, evaluators, and recommenders. They already know who the biggest vendors are.

“We selected thousands of potential companies for inclusion in the Cybersecurity 500, by soliciting feedback from CISOs and end-user security practitioners, researching hundreds of cybersecurity events on the Cybersecurity Calendar, and researching dozens of Cybersecurity news sources that we follow.

“We are trying to create more awareness and recognition for the most innovative cybersecurity companies – ranging from the largest and most recognizable brands to VC backed start-ups and emerging players.”
