Edward Snowden has warned IT specialists that they are the target of Government surveillance, as they have access to systems and to private records.
Appearing via video link from Moscow at the CeBIT IT trade conference in Germany, told delegates that the Government is “looking for the people who are in this room right now”.
Speaking on rumours that he wished to return to the USA, Snowden said that he wanted to tell a jury why he did it, and wanted to tell the court what these programs are and “I want the jury to decide whether it was right or wrong that our rights and or Constitution were being violated in secret.” But he admitted that under the current legislation in the US, it’s “not even possible for me to enjoy a fair trial.”
