We already know BlackBerry is placing a huge emphasis on privacy with its upcoming Priv handset (the name alone is short for privacy), but the company wants you to know it’s not making any security trade-offs by switching to Android. BlackBerry’s Director of Security Alex Manea took to the company’s blog to detail some of the security protections in the new handset, including default full disk encryption and verification for every layer of the device — from hardware to apps.
