Tesco Bank left its users vulnerable to hackers by issuing cards with sequential numbers, according to The Financial Times. Comments, from rival lenders, come after the bank suffered a damaging cyberattack that saw $2.5 million stolen from around 9,000 customers. Issuing cards with sequential numbers is a risk that most banks avoid taking, as it increases the chances that a hacker will be able to quickly use a software tool access the accounts. And decreases the chance of fraud detection. Tesco has refused to confirm or deny the allegations.
