There has been a very strong start to the Cyber Security Summit & Expo, taking place at the London Business Design Centre. Speakers so far at largest one-day UK event dedicated to Cyber Security have included Mark Sayers, Deputy Director in Cyber and Government Security at the Cabinet Office, who told delegates that the fight was on “to make the UK the hardest target for Cyber Crime,” and Alison Whitney, Deputy Director for Digital Government at the NCSC, who urged delegates to rehearse cyber preparedness strategies like they would a fire drill. “Practise what you will do in the event of a breach – how would your systems cope?” she said.
Summit speakers still to come this afternoon include Nausicaa Delfas, Chief Operating Officer at the Financial Conduct Authority, and Phil Cracknell, CISI of Homeserve. The London Business Design Centre is located in central London close to Angel tube station, so if you are not already there head out now for afternoon speaker sessions and the opportunity to find out about the latest cyber security technology from exhibitors.
