Yoti, the digital identity app with over 3.7 million downloads across the UK, US and India, announces a new partnership with FaceTec, the world leader in biometric face solutions. Yoti has introduced FaceTec’s ZoOm 3D Authentication with TrueLiveness™ to its products for increased security.

Initially, Yoti will integrate ZoOm into the online browser version of its age estimation technology Yoti Age Scan, a secure age-checking service that accurately estimates a person’s age by looking at their face. Yoti Age Scan can be used when providing age-restricted goods and services, both online and in person. Using FaceTec’s ZoOm 3D Face Authentication – with the world’s leading human liveness detection – will give Yoti effective anti-spoofing capabilities, giving them a significant competitive advantage, and a strong addition to their existing security processes.

Robin Tombs, CEO and Co-Founder of Yoti explained, “We’re on a mission to be the world’s trusted identity platform. This means our products must be built with the highest levels of security. We’re therefore delighted to partner with FaceTec and use their leading ZoOm 3D Authentication to enhance our security and anti-spoofing capabilities. Individuals will have a smoother and faster experience when using our products, and businesses can benefit from accurate and friction-free authentication. We’re proud to be working with FaceTec, a company that aligns with our principles and takes security as seriously as we do.”

After evaluating a number of partners, Yoti selected ZoOm based on technical superiority and standards compliance.

“We reviewed a number of providers and found ZoOm to be superior to the other solutions we tested,” added

Madhu Nori, Chief Product Officer at Yoti. “We found the anti-spoofing and liveness detection approach very strong and innovative, with a simple and intuitive UX for individuals. It’s also a scalable solution; an important consideration for us as we expand globally.”

FaceTec has achieved both Level 1 and Level 2 NIST/NVLAP-certified iBeta anti-spoofing Presentation Attack Detection test certificates, which are compliant with the ISO 30107-3 global testing standard. ZoOm is supported on Android and iOS native apps, as well as web and mobile browsers, allowing Yoti to integrate it across their web and mobile products. ZoOm’s unparalleled Liveness Detection – which determines if the legitimate user is actually alive and present at login – is the key to granting truly secure account access.

“We are very excited to be working alongside Yoti’s ground-breaking global identity platform. Yoti is secure, fast and simple to use, and with over 3 million downloads of the free app, has established a leadership position in what is expected to be a very big market,” said Kevin A. Tussy, CEO of FaceTec. “We are confident ZoOm 3D Face Authentication will help deliver the highest levels of login security, aiding Yoti with its global expansion plans.”

The free Yoti app is available for Apple and Android phones and takes less than five minutes to set up. Individuals can take a selfie and add an ID document using their smartphone, which is transformed into a digital identity. Yoti uses 256-bit encryption to secure user details and puts individuals in control of their data.
