CSCUK – Cyber Security Connect UK – the industry’s leading forum for Chief Information Security Officers (CISO), has called for the cyber security community to respond to the Government policy paper published on 11 September 2019 about post-Brexit cyber security.

The Government has asked for the Cyber Security Industry in the UK to provide views and opinions about the proposed approach to cyber security certification following the UK’s departure from the EU.

Martin Smith, Cyber Security Connect UK Conference Chair and Chairman and Founder The SASIG, has called on the cyber security community in the UK to use this opportunity to reinforce the importance of ensuring that the highest standards are retained by the UK once it departs the European Union.

Mr Smith said: “As the data economy and IOT (Internet of Things) continues to thrive, we must ensure that the general public have trust in the products, services and processes that businesses and Government agencies provide. It is paramount that the level of cyber security remains robust enough to ensure that our digital economy continues to function safely and securely. I would encourage all cyber security professionals to bring the key issues to the attention of the Government.”

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport is asking for responses to be submitted by the 8th October 2019.
