After 23 years of being a civil servant and the head of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Ciaran Martin is stepping down and passing the reins onto Lindy Cameron.
The NCSC, a band of GCHQ was created to help protect and prevent hackers, from the likes of Russia and China infiltrating our infrastructures.
Martin states that “In the six-and-a-half years that I was at GCHQ, Russia was the operational constant. It was a very significant threat,” He continues saying that “GCHQ has been tracking some of these Russian groups for nearly 30 years. Some of them are very good.” highlighting the necessity of this organisation to protect the British government and its people.
