Medical records of at least 7,000 people compromised in a data breach involving Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in New York disclosed patients' mental health and medical diagnoses, HIV statuses and sexual assault and domestic violence reports, according to records reviewed by NBC News. Over 100,000 internet-connected cameras may be falling prey to a new IoT malware that’s spreading through recently disclosed vulnerabilities in the products. The malware, called Persirai, has been found infecting Chinese-made wireless cameras since last month, security firm Trend Micro said on Tuesday. The author of the Rakos malware has built himself a nicely-sized botnet, according to a post today by Renato Marinho of Morphus Labs. Based on data gathered via a series of "high interaction" honeypots, Marinho says the Rakos botnet lists around 8,300 active bots every day, and over 24,000 unique bots over a three-day period.
