SC Magazine – A new project from CloudFlare, a website protection service, is hoping to better protect public interest websites from distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
In its new initiative, dubbed Project Galileo, CloudFlare will identity deserving websites and offer its DDoS protection services to them, according to the project’s website. Multiple organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Center for Democracy and Technology, will help CloudFlare sift through potential website candidates.
Websites protected could include those of newspapers, journalists and other sites expressing political or artistic ideas.
