Google has announced a new team called “Project Zero” to significantly reduce the number of people harmed by targeted attacks.
In its announcement, it said that the success of its security research has led it to create the new, well-staffed team and it is hiring the best practically-minded security researchers, who will spend 100 per cent of their time toward improving security across the internet.
As part of this, it will be transparent on its efforts and involve the wider community and will only report bugs to the software’s vendor, and not third parties.
