A Cybersecurity Ventures study stated there will be 1 million cybersecurity jobs open worldwide in 2016, with the vast majority of the these being in the United States. This figure is expected to rise to 1.5 million by 2019. Gary Hayslip, deputy director and CISO for San Diego gave Cybersecurity Ventures noted that the dearth of prospects is part of the problem, but some of the blame should be attached to those doing the hiring along with the job hunters
