Tripwire, Inc., a leading global provider of security and compliance solutions for enterprises and industrial organisations, announced with Lastline®, the leader in AI-powered network security, a partnership agreement that will incorporate Lastline’s advanced malware detection technology into Tripwire’s Malware Detection Service. Tripwire’s resulting solution combines Lastline malware analysis with Tripwire® Enterprise’s change detection capabilities to identify malware as soon as it is introduced to a system.

“Cyber incidents always involve some kind of change to a system,” said Tim Erlin, vice president of product management and strategy at Tripwire. “Monitoring for change is a fundamental security practice. Embedding malware detection into our host-based change detection solution enhances security teams’ ability to mitigate cyber threats. Lastline offers the best malware detection technology available today, and we’re excited to now be able to offer it directly to our customers.”

By combining Lastline’s AI-powered malware detection with Tripwire’s file integrity monitoring (FIM), security teams can act more quickly against known or advanced threats. Tripwire Malware Detection Service works in real time for continuous protection, and identifies all malicious changes made by an attacker to speed remediation. Adding Lastline technology improves the overall effectiveness and speed of detection. Leading independent research firm, NSS Labs’ 2017 Breach Detection Systems group test recognised Lastline as the only offering they have ever tested to achieve 100 percent Malware Detection and 100 percent Security Effectiveness. The company has achieved this distinction two years in a row.

“We’re honored that such a category leader as Tripwire has selected Lastline to be integrated into their product,” commented Brian Laing, Lastline’s head of global strategic alliances. “Organised cybercriminals continue to up their game with more sophisticated threats and multi-faceted attacks that are successfully evading detection by other solutions. The combination of two best-of-breed technologies like Tripwire’s and ours will result in truly effective detection of advanced threats attempting to compromise a device or penetrate a network.”

Tripwire Enterprise is Tripwire’s flagship secure configuration management solution. It enables organisations to maintain the integrity of their systems by establishing a secure baseline, monitoring for changes, and assessing for adherence to industry standards and policies. Tripwire maintains the industry’s broadest, most comprehensive security and compliance coverage, with more than 35,000 ready-to-use policy tests, drawing from more than 30 different policy and regulation sources and supporting more than 200 applications and operating systems.
