PICCASO – which stands for “Privacy, InfoSec, Culture Change & Awareness Societal Organisation” – is a Special Interest Group (SIG) founded by CEO Steve Wright at Privacy Culture Limited June 2021, with the driving purpose of opening conversations about why and how a culture of privacy should be embedded into organisations and be at the heart of privacy compliance & strategy.
By discussing specialised privacy topics such as Culture, Behaviour, Change & Communication, and looking at functional issues in the spectrum of data governance and data ethics, the PICCASO Special Interest Group aims to change what the community thinks about privacy within their organisations and how their organisation perceives privacy across the workforce. This will help our community drive improvements, determine what good looks like, and make sure that whoever holds privacy responsibilities can better communicate and affect change from within their organisation.
This December, PICCASO is organising its first event for CPOs, DPOs, CDOs, and CISOs to inaugurate the initiative, bring together the brightest privacy advocates, and discuss the importance of designing privacy into an organisation’s culture. The aim is to help privacy leaders learn and avoid the pitfalls of past mistakes, and ultimately to learn about best practices in the data protection and privacy culture.
The event will take place on the 9th of December, 2021, at 4:30pm GMT at Dentons LLP. Featuring a stellar panel that includes Vivienne Artz, OBE and former CPO at LSEG, Cameron Craig, CPO at HSBC Bank, and Emma Martins, Commissioner Guernsey Data Protection Regulator. The privacy advocates will be interviewed by Nick Graham, partner at Dentons. The panel will discuss why a culture of privacy is so important, and the discussion will be followed by drinks and canapes.
