International Cyber Expo have announced the expansion of its world-class Advisory Council, now composed of 40 industry leaders from the fields of physical and cyber security. The Advisory Council, chaired by Ciaran Martin, Former CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Professor at The University of Oxford, helps shape and inform the award-winning International Cyber Expo, held at Olympia London from 24th – 25th September 2024.

Drawing on the council’s collective expertise and first hand practical experiences, this year’s event agenda will align with the current and emerging discussions within the cyber community, covering a broad spectrum of cyber trends to meet diverse attendee needs and attract leading cybersecurity professionals worldwide.

New additions to the esteemed Advisory Council include Martin Smith MBE, Chairman and Founder of The Security Awareness Special Interest Group (SASIG) and Tarquin Folliss, Vice Chairman of SASIG

Martin and Tarquin join an already esteemed group of leading figures from across various sectors, including government, consulting and policing. Existing members include Juliette Wilcox CMG, Cyber Security Ambassador, UK Defence & Security Exports; Anne Woodley, Security Specialist at Microsoft; and Peter O’Doherty, Temporary Commissioner, Fraud & Cyber Crime, City of London Police.

Earlier this year, the organisers of the International Cyber Expo, Nineteen Group announced the acquisition of SASIG, who will play an integral role in curating the Global Cyber Summit at this year’s event. Martin Smith MBE, Founder and Chairman of SASIG, and Tarquin Folliss, SASIG Vice Chairman, have joined the Advisory Council. Over its twenty years, SASIG has created a strong networking community for cybersecurity professionals. Martin and Tarquin bring the unique perspectives of the group’s 10,000 members to the Advisory Council, along with a deep understanding of their community’s pain points.

On the 12th June 2024, the Nineteen Group gathered members of the Advisory Council at The Shard, hosted by Mitie, to express gratitude for their continued contributions and formally kick off the 2024 event. During a commencement speech, Martin Smith MBE, and Tarquin Folliss revealed a key theme of this year’s International Cyber Expo: Resilience.

Rachael Shattock, Group Event Director at Nineteen Group, said: “We are proud to have expanded the Advisory Council for 2024. Not only does this widen the conversation across the community and broaden perspective, but it also helps us to create an event that reflects the unique and complex needs of the whole community, drawing in visitors from across the world.
