Leading UK cyber security firm, Bridewell, has announced the appointment of Sam Thornton as Chief Operating Officer and welcomed him to its board of directors, a move which the company hopes will further strengthen Bridewell’s position as a globally recognised cyber security services company.

Sam Thornton is a highly experienced, client-centric business leader with 20 years of expertise in the cyber security industry, including the past 12 years in consulting. In his new role, Sam will drive Bridewell’s vision for expansion and enhance its global reputation for security services such as cyber consulting, penetration testing and managed detection and response (MDR). He will also help build client relationships, ensure exceptional support and contribute to the board’s strategic direction.

Sam began his career as a security analyst and has since held key roles such as Head of Security, Lead Information Risk Manager and Account Security Manager. His extensive experience provides him with deep insight into a dynamic threat landscape and he remains fascinated by the continuous evolution of technologies and security challenges.

With a strong track record in managing large-scale, complex strategic engagements for consultancies, including his previous role as Director, UK Consulting & Implementation at NCC Group, Sam will leverage his expertise in stakeholder management, information assurance, and risk advisory to enhance client partnerships and support Bridewell’s continued growth and global expansion.

Leadership Endorsement

Anthony Young, CEO of Bridewell, commented: “We are pleased to formally welcome Sam to Bridewell. His passion for cyber security, extensive experience and expertise will play a key role in propelling the business forward. Sam is a wonderful new addition to our leadership team and board of directors, helping us to streamline operations as we continue to expand globally.”

Sam Thornton expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating: “Watching Bridewell’s progression within the industry has been quite enviable, especially from an outside perspective. Seeing the business grow and the calibre of people it attracts is truly inspiring. I’m passionate about contributing to Bridewell’s success, driving global expansion, and leveraging the excellent capabilities in place today to expand Bridewell’s influence in the cyber security industry – without losing the core values that make the business great today.”

Sam’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Bridewell, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, excellence and global expansion in cyber security services.
